last but not least
ACCIDENTS
In the event of an accident:
Don’t “panic stop” and rush to the scene.
Pull over with the group.
Road Captains will render assistance.
If you have medical training identify yourself to the RC and offer to assist if needed.
Otherwise, stay with the rest of the group and continue leaving the area clear for emergency vehicles and personnel.
Do not move an injured person or remove their helmet.
AMBULANCE RIGHT-OF-WAY
Ambulance and emergency vehicles have the right-of-way when approaching a riding pack. Signal, slow, and move to the right to allow uninterrupted passage of emergency vehicle. Road Captains will assume the lead of a split pack to rejoin and/or continue to the final destination.
BIKE SECURITY
Although Road Captains will watch bikes while at our destinations, the security of your bike and belongings is your responsibility. Locking is recommended.
POLICE STOP
If the group is stopped by the police, the Road Captain will lead the group to a safe stop. Stay in formation and on your bike. Let the officer come to you. The Lead Road Captain is the only person who should approach the Officer and identify himself.
PASSING OTHER GROUPS
The Road Captains will seek / give respect to pass or be passed by another group.
